Services
Sharp Management provides professional engineering and natural wastewater treatment solutions tailored to municipalities, developers, and industrial clients across Newfoundland & Labrador. Through our WTS Engineered Wetland systems, we deliver cost-effective, low-maintenance infrastructure designed to operate without chemicals, moving parts, or electricity — reducing long-term operational costs while meeting regulatory requirements.
Our services include concept development, feasibility studies, pilot projects, detailed design, tender preparation, construction oversight, and full turnkey implementation. We also support municipalities through verified carbon offset programs, helping transform wastewater infrastructure into revenue-generating environmental assets that deliver measurable, long-term value.
History
25+ Years of Experience
For more than 25 years, Sharp Management has been advancing natural wastewater treatment solutions across Newfoundland & Labrador and beyond. From early pilot systems in the early 2000s to large-scale municipal installations such as Appleton–Glenwood and Stephenville, our work has consistently focused on delivering reliable, cost-effective infrastructure rooted in environmental responsibility. Over the decades, we have refined our approach through practical implementation, long-term system performance, and continuous innovation.
⸻
Foundation in Professor R. Kickuth’s Technology
Our engineered wetland systems are based on the pioneering work of Professor R. Kickuth, widely recognized as the original designer of subsurface horizontal wetlands, often referred to as reed bed systems. Through direct technical instruction and decades of applied experience, Sharp Management has built upon this world-leading science to develop MSR® Technology — adapting and advancing it to meet modern municipal and industrial wastewater challenges while maintaining the integrity of its natural biological foundation.
Our Team
Sharp Management is led by experienced environmental and professional engineering leadership with decades of applied expertise in natural wastewater treatment, municipal infrastructure, and carbon reduction systems. Our team combines technical design capability, regulatory understanding, and hands-on construction experience to deliver solutions that are practical, compliant, and built for long-term performance.
Working alongside municipalities, regulators, and project partners, we provide professional engineering oversight from concept development through to commissioning and ongoing support. Our multidisciplinary approach ensures every project balances environmental performance, financial sustainability, and operational reliability.
Leadership
Glenn Sharp, P.Eng. — Founder & Engineering Lead
With over 25 years of experience in engineered wetland design and environmental infrastructure, Glenn has led award-winning municipal wastewater projects across Newfoundland & Labrador and internationally. His work has been recognized by professional engineering bodies and environmental associations for innovation in sustainable infrastructure and natural treatment systems.
Local Matters
Sharp Management is proudly based in Newfoundland & Labrador, and our work is rooted in the communities we serve. Our engineered wetland systems are designed specifically for local climate conditions, regulatory environments, and municipal needs — from small rural communities to larger regional centers. We understand the realities of operating infrastructure in Atlantic Canada, including extreme weather, seasonal population shifts, and long-term asset management planning.
When municipalities partner with us, the benefits stay local. Carbon Offset revenue is reinvested directly into participating towns, helping reduce operating costs and fund future projects across the province. By combining local engineering expertise with natural infrastructure solutions, we create sustainable systems that strengthen communities, protect waterways, and support long-term economic resilience.
